Like French + English, Spanish has near future: IR (present) + a + INFINITIVE. 'Voy a comer' = I'm going to eat. 'Vas a estudiar?' = Are you going to study? More colloquial than simple future for near events. IR present: voy, vas, va, vamos, vais, van.
