Terms of service
Last updated: 19 May 2026
By creating an account or using Gist, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the service.
The service
Gist ("we", "us") provides a GCSE revision platform with topic-mapped questions, spaced repetition, mock exam papers, and progress tracking, accessible at this website.
Your account
- You're responsible for keeping your password secure. Don't share your account.
- One account per person. Don't impersonate anyone else.
- If you're under 13, a parent or guardian must set up and supervise the account.
- We may suspend or terminate accounts that abuse the service, harass others, or attempt to reverse-engineer or scrape the platform at scale.
Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the service to harass, threaten, or harm others.
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to other accounts or our infrastructure.
- Scrape, copy, or redistribute our question content for commercial purposes.
- Run automated tools (bots) against the service without prior written permission.
Content + accuracy
We work hard to keep our question content accurate and aligned to current AQA, Edexcel, and OCR specifications. However, the service is provided "as is". Final exam grades depend on many factors and we make no guarantee of any specific result. Always cross-check against your official specification and your teacher's guidance.
Subscriptions + payments
Some features may require a paid subscription. Where they do, the price and billing terms will be shown clearly before you pay. UK consumer law gives you a 14-day cooling-off period for subscriptions; refunds are processed via your original payment method.
Ending your account
You can delete your account at any time from your profile. We can end the service for you if you breach these terms, with notice unless safety requires immediate action.
Liability
Nothing in these terms limits liability where it cannot be limited by law (e.g. for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud). For everything else, our total liability to you for any claim arising from your use of Gist is capped at the amount you've paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or £50 if you haven't paid us anything.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Disputes will be resolved in the courts of England and Wales.
